Mainship 41 Grand Salon

The Mainship 41 Grand Salon is an unorthodox Euro-style cruiser that might better be described as a floating condo. The design emphasis was obviously on the mega-volume interior. Built on a solid glass hull with a wide beam, there were two versions of the Mainship 41: the Double Cabin with a master stateroom aft and the Grand Salon with an enormous full-length salon stretching for almost two-thirds of the boat’s length. Either layout is impressive with one of the more stylish décor packages ever attempted in a popular-priced production boat. Indeed, the interior of the Mainship 41 was more than just innovative – it was a giant step toward Mainship’s vision of the future in mid-size U.S. yacht designs. Unfortunately, the boxy profile and townhouse accommodations failed to impress the market and production lasted only two years. Standard 454-cid gas engines will cruise the Mainship 41 Grand Salon at 16-17 knots (around 25 knots top), and the optional Cat 375-hp diesels cruise around 23 knots and reach 27 knots wide open.
