Mainship
40 Motor Cruiser
N
ot noted as a particularly good seller (about 20 were built during her production run), the Mainship 40 Motor Cruiser has a very attractive trawler- style profile, however, her interior is arranged with only a single stateroom – a rarity on a boat this size. Indeed, the lack of a second stateroom made her a poor choice for those who enjoyed extended cruising with family and guests. For the cruising couple, however, the Mainship 40 has much to offer beginning with a huge single-level interior layout aft of the forward cabin. Without sidedecks, the full-width salon is very spacious. The stateroom is quite large, and the head (which can only be accessed from the stateroom) has a stall shower. There are port and starboard deck doors in the pilothouse, protective raised bulworks forward and the cockpit is protected by a bridge overhang. Topside, the flybridge is arranged with guest seating forward of the helm and a big aft deck area. Twin 165-hp Perkins diesels will cruise efficiently at 10-11 knots (15 knots top) burning about 1 gph
