Mainship
36 Double Cabin
A popular boat, the Mainship 36 Double Cabin is a conservative design with a plain-Jane appearance and an efficient cabin layout. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate deadrise aft, her profile displays a hint of trawler styling. The interior accommodations are arranged with the galley and dinette down a few steps from the salon level. V-berths are forward and a walk around double berth is fitted in the aft stateroom. Large wrap around deckhouse windows provide an abundance of natural lighting. In 1985, the original teak interior was replaced with light oak woodwork. Outside, the 36 has a full width afterdeck with nearly 90-sq. ft. of entertainment area. The bridge is set up with the helm forward and guest seating aft. Included in a long list of standard equipment was a generator, lower helm station, bow pulpit and swim platform. With only twin 270-hp Crusader gas engines, the Mainship 36 has a relatively good turn of speed. She’ll cruise comfortably at a respectable 17 knots and reach a top speed of around 25-26 knots.
