Mainship
35 Open Bridge/36 Sedan Bridge
While maximum interior volume is obviously the theme of this model, the egg-shaped exterior styling of the Mainship 36 Sedan Bridge is very unorthodox. Appearances aside, the full width interior of this boat is cavernous and ideally suited to entertaining on a grand scale. (Note that she was originally called the Mainship 35 Open Bridge when introduced in 1990). She’s built on a solid fiberglass modified V-hull with average beam and shallow deadrise at the transom. The step-down interior is set well below the cockpit level, and the headroom throughout is extraordinary. Indeed, these are comfortable accommodations for a 36-foot boat, and the single-level floorplan seems completely open. Unfortunately, the cabin windows are very small and the absence of outside natural lighting is notable. Additional features include a walk-through from the bridge to the foredeck, attractive cherry interior trim and wraparound bridge seating. Standard 454-cid gas engines will cruise the 36 Sedan Bridge at a respectable 17-18 knots and deliver top speed of around 28 knots.
