Mainship 35 Open/
36 Express

The Mainship 36 Express (called the Mainship 35 Open when she was introduced in 1990) is a Euro-style express cruiser with a large cockpit and a practical mid-cabin interior layout. High freeboard and the absence of a curved windshield keep the 36 Express from being a truly attractive design in the eyes of many, and her portside helm location is unusual (most builders place the helm to starboard). Inside, the mid-cabin floorplan (upgraded in 1992) is arranged with double berths in both staterooms, a compact galley, and stall shower in the head compartment. The lack of interior bulkheads adds to the impression of space inside the 36, although there are no privacy doors for the staterooms, just curtains. The real appeal of this boat is the big cockpit with its sexy helm console, contoured sun lounge, walk-through transom, and seating for a crowd. A hatch in the sole provides good access to the engines and V-drives. Crusader 454-cid gas engines will cruise at 19 knots and reach a top speed of 27-28 knots.
